Skinning

David Cheetham sells skinning jigs to use in the skinning of nagadō-daiko.

Base price is $120 for a lighter version, or $150 for a heavy version. Dimensions are the same, but the heavier version uses 0.12″ thick steel, whereas the lighter one is 0.065″ thick. This will also translate to a larger shipping cost. They’ll be painted flat black unless otherwise specified.

Rings

David Cheetham can make rings for shime-daiko. Here’s the information he originally posted to the Facebook Taiko Community:

I’ll paint them white unless you tell me otherwise (I use Rustoleum High Performance Enamel, which is available in a variety of colors and nearly indestructible)
1/2″ x .065″ round tube, 14″ – 18″ OD – $40/pr +shipping
5/8″ x .065″ round tube, 20″ – 32″ OD – $60/pr +shipping
I can roll any size larger than that up to about 72″, but I’ll have to experiment with tube size before I promise anything about a price (I’m betting not more than about $100 for a pair, but that is TBD). If I can find 40′ stock, I could roll a ring up to about 12’6″… so if you’ve got an elephant hide, let me know.

E-mail David to order or for more information.
